Hello fellow Lightwavers.
The other day I was thinking (once again) about the wonderfull CGI
from Babylon 5 done with Lightwave. I was asking myself, 'How did they
do the blueish Nebula's in the background '. So I started experimenting.
I used a texture mapped bal which was slightly bigger then the
stars-ball. The texture consisted of several blue spots, to create the
nebulas. The result was perfect, at least that's what I thought. Only
the rendering time was a bit to big, but I can overcome that. A friend
of mine however, keeps on claming the guys from Foundation Imaging
used a different/faster/smarter technique.
How did they/you do it ?????
If it's a national secret I guess you won't tell me. But if it isn't
please do, I'd like to prove to my friend that the way I did it is
quite good. :-)
Greetings
